Precision parts for electronics

Precision parts for electronics in compliance with technical requirements

Regardless of the exact use case, precision parts for electronics must meet highly technical requirements such as

  • have high strengths and the ability to withstand mechanical stress,
  • be made of engineering plastics as opposed to commodity plastics due to better mechanical and thermal properties,
  • Fireproof and dustproof design in case of a short circuit,
  • aesthetic requirements if the part is in a visible place,
  • exceptional dimensional accuracy and dimensional stability.

Precision parts for electronics often need to feature a thin wall, yet have high strength, thus, walls tend to be reinforced with fibreglass.

All these highly technical requirements result in advanced tooling needs and the need for more precise production equipment, as well. Given our experience in precision parts for electronics, we have both the adequate equipment and the necessary know-how in-house in order to meet such demands.

Overmolding in the production of precision parts for electronics

Overmolding or insert molding are a common practice in precision part manufacturing. Screws and electronic connectors can be injection molded onto so that these parts do not have to be assembled into the product at a later stage.

Two-component injection molding of precision plastic parts

Two-component injection molding is also common when parts need to be made of parts of different material qualities. In many cases, the second component is a softer material such as TPE. Two-component design allows varying levels of dust-, water- and fireproof design – all of which are validated by meticulous testing.

Electric metre housing

Electric metre housing

Assembly of this electric metre housing manufactured by Mikropakk takes place on one of our assembly lines manually. Screws specified by the manufacturer are inserted into the housing. We then supply a semi-assembled product to the manufacturer that needs to insert only the electronic components into the housing to have a finished product.

Automotive sound system

Manufacturing a sound system used in the automotive industry must follow the strictest standards: we conduct regular testing, audits on consistent accuracy, validate dimensions of the product and prepare precise PPAP or Production Part Approval Process reports based on our measurements.

Insert molding is used for this product, as well, to assure excellent conductivity. Plastic serves as a frame for this product, core qualities are provided by the metal components. Metal parts are inserted into mold onto which plastic is injection molded.

Two-component plastic injection molding to streamline production by eliminating assembly

With technical advancement come new challenges. We were tasked by a Hungarian subsidiary of a German industrial connector manufacturer to develop a two-component plastic part for one of their products. This injection-molded component, produced through contract manufacturing, eliminates the need for assembly, offering considerable time and cost savings.
